Danish Fare at Bistro Dansk

One of my preferred ways of breaking up my routine at home is to try a new restaurant. A few weeks back, my friend Lindsey and I did just that when we enjoyed dinner at Bistro Dansk.

We started with a mushroom appetizer: earthy, with just the right kick of spice. For  dinner, we shared the chicken schnitzel with O'Brien potatoes and (bacon-ey!) sweet and sour cabbage. The portions were delicious and huuuge. One plate was easily enough for the two of us to share. Afterwards, we were so stuffed we decided to skip dessert, although the items listed on the board were definitely tempting.

The atmosphere was cozy and kitschy in a fun way, and the service was so wonderfully competent, it bordered on hilarious.

What do you do when you're trying to break out of your routine? I'd love to try out some of your suggestions over the Remembrance Day long weekend. My usual Monday post with be pushed to Tuesday to accommodate the holiday.
