New York on my Mind
I know it's pretty clich

of me, but I'm head-over-heels in love with the Manhattan skyline. Part of that has to do with how television and film has made it iconic, but a lot of it is because of the history. When I was staying in Brooklyn over the summer, looking over that skyline got me thinking about all the people who have looked out over it before me. The immigrants crossing the Atlantic dreaming about a new life, the young hopefuls trying to make it in the big city, movie stars and musicians, the college freshmen gazing up at the skyscrapers for the first time: it's a city just buzzing with excitement.
