Travel Intentions for 2014
Taking a little blogging break over the holiday has helped me focus my ideas and get my creative juices flowing. With that in mind, I want to write a bit about my intentions for travel and blogging in 2014.
2013 was a year of some pretty major trips: Vegas, Vancouver and New York all within a six month span. This year, Chris and I plan on redirecting some of our travel budget toward improvements in our condo (and save up for a trip overseas in 2015 *fingers crossed*) so we'll be scaling back on the trip expenses for awhile.
If you're worried this blog will become an oddly un-travel-like travel blog: stop. I still want to have plenty of adventures and take time to explore new places, so the goal will be to take a number of small trips this year: like maybe driving out to Chicago again, and even exploring some of our neighbouring provinces. It can be easy to get caught up in the romance of popular tourist destinations, but in reality there's often much to explore close to home.
So for 2015, I hope to carry on my love affair with the open road by continuing to explore what my region has to offer. And I can't wait to share those adventures with you.
P.S. Why yes, this is one of the worse pictures of me in existence, although the second picture in this post is in tight competition ;)
