A Pretty Impressive Table
This past Saturday, I had the chance to attend Winnipeg's
Table for 1200 - an event coordinated by StorefrontMB and 5468796 Architecture together with AFF. Spanning the Esplanade Riel Pedestrian Bridge, 1200 people gathered together for an epic outdoor dinner as the sun set.
Diners clad in white enjoyed beautiful cold salads (water melon, goat cheese, beats and mint, hello!), meat dishes and a sweet little toffee, chocolate and nut bark for dessert prepared by chefs from Deer + Almond, RAW Gallery and Diversity Food Services.
Eating outdoors in perfect weather while surrounded by the Louis Riel Bridge, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the St Boniface Cathedral was both beautiful and surreal. I came away with a deeper appreciation both for Winnipeg's architecture and its culinary delights.
