The Final Days of The Osborne Village Café

The Osborne Village Café has long been my go-to spot for a wholesome, delicious and well-priced breakfast filled with locally sourced ingredients. But with the recent selling of The Osborne Village Inn, the charming eatery will be closing its doors in just a few short weeks.

So last weekend, friends and I crowded into a green vinyl booth for one last brunch. Between mouthfuls of Hipster Omelettes, Breakfast Classics and The Veg we chatted and joked in the homey and eclectic space. As our plates grew bare, we reluctantly grabbed our bill and headed for the cashier to make way for other eager diners. It was a proper, if loath goodbye.

To fill up on chef Leighton Fontaine's toothsome dishes, you can still swing by the café through to the end of November or visit the Nicolett Inn in Saint Boniface. Leighton and his crew will be looking for a new spot in Osborne Village or Downtown area in the spring.
