Get Back to Nature

One of the things I love most about Canada is the wide open spaces. Even in and around Winnipeg, there are so many parks, forests and fields to enjoy. I took full advantage this week during my "Get Back to Nature" September weekly challenge.

I made a point of grabbing the dog and heading out the door with nothing more than sunscreen on my skin, clothes on my back, a few bucks in my pocket (for coffees and twist cones, naturally), and my camera and water bottle in tow. I feel better knowing that, in the waning days of summer, I soaked up the fresh air and warm sunshine as much as possible.

Here are a few photos I took strolling with Slim the dog around Brenda Leipsic Park (a marshy off-leash dog area) and along the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.

You can see more pictures and follow my progress via Twitter and Instagram. Remember to keep me posted on how you're doing with the challenges!
